It was designed & inbuilt 1925 by Dutch architect Co Brandes (Jacobus Johannes Brandes), one of an important architects of the Nieuwe Haagse School, in style between the 1920s and Fifties. Brandes designed four other houses locally, all in-built the similar style. The facade features a stripe of black bricks that runs horizontally round the house.
